Best Suppressor for 300 Blackout

Posted in: Silencer Reviews

Since its standardization in 2009, the 300 Blackout round has been a favorite for suppressor enthusiasts, myself included. The 300BLK is designed to be fired either supersonic or subsonic, which is what makes it such a great choice for use with a silencer. Shooting subsonic suppressed 300BLK is wildly quiet and has nearly no recoil, but delivers more energy than pistol rounds, which has led to its popularity with tactical shooters, hunters, and for showing off how quiet your gun is at the range.

300 Blackout really shines with a silencer, the round was developed with the intention of being shot suppressed. And while any .30 caliber will work with 300BLK, we have decided to figure out which silencers were best for the job.

Q Trash Panda

The engineers who designed the 300 AAC Blackout cartridge are the same people who designed the Trash Panda, and this silencer was built specifically to work with 300BLK. The Trash Panda is made of titanium, so it keeps your compact 300 Blackout lightweight and maneuverable and is compact at just under 7” long. The Q Trash Panda was one of the first silencers to use a 1.75” diameter to get extra volume without adding length, and that extra diameter translates to lower decibels, especially when shoot subsonic rounds.

And, if you need the absolute quietest shot experience, you can step up to the Q Thunder Chicken, which is identical to the Trash Panda, just a little longer for extra sound reduction making it one of the quietest 300 blackout suppressors.

PROS:

IDEAL FOR:

  • Built For 300BLK
  • Lightweight and Robust
  • Excellent Sound Reduction

The Q Trash Panda is the quintessential 300BLK suppressor, it is lightweight and compact to match the small 30BLK rifles, it sounds awesome, and it works great. And of course it does, it was built by the same people who created the round!

Dead Air Nomad 30

The Dead Air Nomad has been a go-to 30-caliber suppressor for a few years now due to its versatility and sound performance across a variety of calibers, but it really excels on subsonic suppressed 300 BLK. That excellent sound performance is due to its two-chamber coaxial baffle design paired with its large diameter; that combination allows the Dead Air Nomad to shine on the low-pressure 300BLK round.

At 6.5” long it will keep your loadout compact and weighs just 14.5 oz but is extremely robust thanks to its steel construction. That durable tubeless steel design also means the Nomad is full auto rated, if you’re lucky enough to have access to a machine gun. The Nomad also has a longer option, the Nomad L, if you want even more decibel reduction.

My favorite part is how customizable this suppressor is, and it cements it as one of the best 300 blackout suppressors. On the mounting end, it features a HUB mount, so you can swap out the included direct thread of any quick detach (QD) system you want. On the muzzle end, it uses the Dead Air R-Series endcaps, so you can swap it out with caliber-specific options, external brakes, or flash hiders to build this suppressor exactly how you want it.

PROS:

IDEAL FOR:

  • Robust Build Materials
  • Increased Diameter, Decreased Decibels
  • Customizable

The Dead Air Nomad strikes a great balance of sound suppression, length, weight, and features. It does everything well and works on a variety of rifles thanks to its vast customization.

CGS Hyperion

The Hyperion from CGS had one goal when it was released, be as quiet as possible. It accomplished that goal by using a 3D printed design to create intricate baffle structures that efficiently traps an enormous amount of gas, which results in a whisper quiet shooting experience. The Hyperion is 9.5” long and 1.5” in diameter, it uses all of that size to condense the sharp BANG!” of a gunshot down to a soft “pew” that will make you grin.

The Hyperion can pull double-duty, if you do plan to shoot other calibers this silencer can handle up to 300 RUM, even those high pressure rounds sound great through this suppressor.

PROS:

IDEAL FOR:

  • Top Tier Sound Performance
  • Nearly Impossible Not to Smile When You Hear It
  • Works On All of Your 30Cal Rifles

If sound suppression is at the top of your list, the CGS Hyperion should be too. It is crazy quiet on 300BLK, you’ll be blown away when you hear this thing.

HUXWRX FLOW762 Ti

The 300BLK is made to run in an AR15 platform and the HUXWRX FLOW series is made to suppress AR-style rifles, it’s a great match. The HUXWRX FLOW762 Ti is a 3D printed Flow Through suppressor, instead of gas getting blown back into your guns action, it vents through the suppressor and down range. That is particularly important for AR’s as reducing the gas leads to less port noise, a softer shooting gun, and no gas in your face. The FLOW 762 Ti’s intricate geometry does a fantastic job of reducing sound and backpressure, and is surprisingly light at under 12 oz. The FLOW 762 Ti also works great on high pressure rounds, so if you have a 5.56 AR, AR10, or AK, this gets you even more versatility.

PROS:

IDEAL FOR:

  • Flow Through Technology
  • Versatile on Other Calibers
  • Built For ARs

This silencer is headache free, no need for tuning, just screw it on and hit the range. It also works amazingly on other calibers, so you get a ton of versatility.

SilencerCo Scythe-Ti

SilencerCo designed the Scythe-Ti for use on hunting rifles, they wanted it to mitigate recoil, drastically reduce sound, and be so light that you’ll hardly notice it; those features make it an incredible option for 300BLK rifles. The Scythe is the lightest silencer on this list at just 7.3 oz, it will keep your 300BLK SBR maneuverable and nimble. And to match your 300 BLK, the Scythe-Ti BLK is exclusive to Silencer Shop!

The Scythe virtually eliminates any recoil with its anchor brake endcap, it is amazing how easily you can stay on target even when shooting quickly, your sites barely move. It also sounds awesome; it uses a large diameter and updated baffle design which helps it drive down decibels on 300 BLK.

PROS:

IDEAL FOR:

  • Recoil Elimination
  • Extremely Lightweight
  • BLK on BLK – Silencer Shop exclusive BLK color

If you want to keep your setup as light as possible but still get great sound suppression, the Scythe-Ti is for you; it's the lightest silencer in its class, sounds great, and cuts recoil.

Honorable Mention

CAT ODB

The CAT ODB debuted in 2024 and quickly became a customer favorite. The CAT ODB is a high performing 3D printed suppressor designed for use on 30cal semi-auto rifles, making it great for 300 Blackout. The ODB achieves amazing signature reduction while also having minimal effects on weapon operation. CATs SURGE BYASS tech is designed to drastically reduce noise and flash without significantly impacting bolt speed, resulting in a reliable system that sounds great and functions perfectly.

Available in either Inconel for extreme hard use or titanium for weight savings, so you can choose the ODB that matches your shooting style. You also have the option of HUB mount or built in QD, allowing you to mix and match to get the perfect suppressor for your needs.
