Efficiency optimization is at the core of the Energetic Armament engineering ethos: Delivering the most dB reduction per ounce of weight and linear inch of silencer. Utilizing 17-4 Stainless Steel heat treated to the H900 condition, the Ferox is engineered to be ultra-strong without sacrificing durability. Developed specifically for 5.56mm platforms; particularly for short and mid barrel lengths optimizing low back pressure and excellent sound suppression.

Weighing only 12.5oz, the precision engineered radial gas bleed off chambers allows for lower backpressure vs conventional baffle design without sacrificing sound reduction performance.  A lightweight design and increased internal volume while maintaining a small outer envelope equals better sound attenuation. Thinner walls also mean better heat transfer as the silencer converts the kinetic energy of high- speed muzzle gasses into heat rather than sound. All these factors produce an optimized geometry to give you the best possible performance for the most compact, light silencer possible. Efficiency is engineered into every Energetic Armament design and the Ferox continues that legacy.

The Ferox ships with a removable 1/2-28 direct thread adapter and is compatible with all industry standard 1.375x24 HUB or Bravo style quick-disconnect mounting systems.

Flash signature mitigation, critical on 5.56mm platforms, was engineered into the design from the very start. The flash hider end cap of the Ferox is removable and features functional flash reducing tines as standard equipment. The Ferox is quiet… really quiet… with low, even tone that gives your firearms the sound you want. Less gas to the face and less sound to the shooter’s ears; the way it should be!

The Ferox is a robust, well-engineered design, tested and proven. Backed by the best customer service in the industry and guaranteed with the patented Energetic Armament serial ID ring. Buying an EA silencer is becoming part of our family of shooters.

Customer Questions
What is the best 5.56 suppressor for 2024, and why should I consider it for my AR-15?
Some of the top suppressors for 5.56 rifles in 2024 include the SureFire SOCOM556-RC3, CAT WB, and PTR Vent 3. These suppressors are designed specifically for the AR15 platform, minimizing sound while maximizing reliability. These silencers feature low back pressure designs, signature reducing end caps, and advanced baffle designs to protect your hearing.
How does the quietest 5.56 suppressor compare to other suppressors on the market?
The quietest 5.56 silencers are all designed speicially for the 556/.223 round, which allows them to excel in performance but they trade off multi caliber versatility.
Can I use a .30 cal suppressor on a 5.56 rifle, and what are the pros and cons?
Yes! .30 Caliber silencers will work on the smaller 5.56 round. The pros are the versatility to run the suppressor ona variety of firearms and calibers, at the cost of some sound performance due to the larger bore.
What is the difference between an AR-15 silencer and an AR-15 suppressor?
There is no difference between an AR-15 silencer and an AR-15 suppressor; the terms are used interchangeably. Both refer to devices attached to the firearm's muzzle to reduce the sound of gunfire.
How loud is an AR-15 with a suppressor, and what factors affect the sound reduction?
A suppressed AR-15 significantly reduces the hearing damage risk and sound of a gunshot. Factors affecting sound reduction include: Suppressor Design: Baffle configuration and internal volume. Ammunition: Subsonic vs. supersonic rounds (though subsonic 5.56 ammo is rare). Barrel Length: Shorter barrels may produce louder shots. Environmental Conditions: Surroundings can influence perceived noise.
Can you shoot .223 out of a 5.56 suppressor, and what are the considerations?
Yes, you can shoot .223 Remington ammunition through a 5.56 suppressor.
What makes the Surefire suppressor 556 a popular choice among AR-15 enthusiasts?
The SureFire SOCOM556-RC2 suppressor is popular due to its: Sound Performance: Cuts down on decibels and protects your hearing. Durability: Built to withstand harsh conditions and high rates of fire. Minimal Point-of-Impact Shift: Maintains rifle accuracy. Quick-Attach System: Allows rapid attachment and detachment. Military Adoption: Proven performance in military applications enhances its reputation.
How does the best 5.56 suppressor under $500 compare to more expensive models?
Suppressors around $500, like the Otter Creek Labs Polonium, offer: Good Sound Suppression: Effective noise reduction suitable for most shooters. Durability: Constructed with robust materials. Value: Cost-effective without significant compromise on performance.
Can a faux suppressor on a 5.56 rifle offer any real benefits, or is it purely cosmetic?
Faux silencers or blast diverters can help keep some of the blast away from the shooter, but will often make your rifle sound louder and can actually increase felt recoil. Get a real suppressor if you want the best muzzle device for your firearms.
What is the best AR-15 suppressor adapter, and how does it affect performance?
There are many popular QD mounting devices for the AR-15, such as: Dead Air Keymo, SilencerCo ASR, Q Plan B, and more.

The quietest 223 suppressors include the CAT WB, PTR VENT 3, and HUXWRX FLOW 556. These silencers focus on suppressing the AR15, they feature back pressure reduction, advanced materials, and innovative designs.
