Thunder Beast CB2BA Adapter

CB-to-BA ADAPTER - The CB2BA adapter is designed to adapt the CB series muzzle brakes to accept the older BA series suppressors. This would permit mounting of BA series suppressor (30BA, 30BAS, and 338BA) on the CB series of brakes and flash hiders which were introduced summer 2014.

In addition, when installed on a CB series muzzle brake or flash hider, it acts as an external thread protector for the muzzle device's threads. In this configuration it will also serve to direct more of the blast forward instead of to the sides, in effect nullifying some of the brake effect.

Installation Instructions

First, the inner threads of the BA suppressor must be cleaned thoroughly along their entire length. The female conical seating surface at the rear end of the suppressor must also be cleaned. Degrease these surfaces and make sure the outer threads and shoulder on the CB2BA adapter are also clean and dry.

Next, make sure the new adapter seats fully against the suppressor shoulder. The easiest way to do this is to use a Sharpie pen to make a small mark on the shoulder of the adapter. When it is screwed in fully, seated, and then removed, if you see ink transfer to the suppressor shoulder, you know it has good contact. Once this is established, clean off the marks.

Next, apply several drops of Red Loctite or other comparable permanent locking agent evenly around the outer threads on the CB2BA adapter. Screw the adapter in all the way until it seats and apply approx 15 foot-pounds of torque to seat it. Let the Loctite set for at least a day before shooting to ensure the adapter stays inside the suppressor.

Before shooting, ensure the firearm is completely unloaded and then do a visual inspection from the breech end of the barrel with the suppressor installed to make sure the suppressor is still mounted straight.

Customer Questions
How to Attach a Suppressor?

Silencers can be threaded directly to the barrel or to a quick detach (QD) mounting system.

What is HUB Mount?

Hub Mount is an industry-standard rear thread pitch for suppressors. The HUB mount is 1.375x24 (1 3/8x24) and can accept any muzzle device in that thread pattern, regardless of the brand.

What is a QD Mounting System?

A QD mounting system allows you to quickly and easily install or remove your suppressor across multiple firearms equipped with the QD mount. The adapter attaches to the suppressor's rear threads and mounts to the muzzle device specific to that system, i.e., Dead Air Keymo adapters mount the Keymo pattern muzzle devices.

What is the Difference Between QD vs. Direct Thread?

Direct thread silencers screw directly onto the muzzle threads of a firearm, making it the simplest mounting system and saving on added weight and length. QD systems include provisions to attach the silencer faster, have a more secure attachment, and move the silencer easily to different guns.

Is Direct Thread Better Than QD?

Direct thread systems are generally lighter and shorter than QD systems, making your setup more compact and maneuverable. QD systems provide very secure attachment and the ability to easily swap the suppressor to different hosts.

What is a Pistol Booster?

A pistol booster system is designed to allow tilting barrel pistols (Glock, Sig, Walther, M&P, etc.) to cycle properly with an attached silencer. They work by decoupling the weight using a spring and attach to your threaded pistol barrel using a piston.
